Just 10 mins drive from the capital, Douglas, Southfields is an ideal base to discover the island’s rich history and breath taking landscape.
With the many uncrowded beaches, dramatic coastline, wooded glens and tumbling waterfalls it is the ideal place to relax and re-charge your batteries!
From Castletown in the south to Ramsey in the north all the towns and villages have their own attractions to offer from ancient castles, to charming fishing ports, and fascinating heritage sites.

Step back through 10,000 years of Manx history starting at the Manx Museum, where the story of Mann begins, and continues at a variety of award winning heritage attractions across the island.
It’s an amazing story from the island’s Viking legacy, to its Victorian holiday heyday, and the famous TT (Tourist Trophy) motorbike races held annually.

The Laxey Wheel

The Laxey Wheel

Known as Lady Isabella, the wheel was built in 1854 to pump water from the lead mines in Laxey, and is a fine example of Victorian engineering.
The wheel is a massive 77.5 feet in diameter - and literally one of the island’s biggest attractions!

Douglas Promenade

Douglas Promenade

The capital, Douglas is famed for its stunning, sweeping promenade which is home to the world’s oldest horse drawn trams, Victorian Gaiety Theatre, Villa Marina Gardens and Manx Electric Railway.
You can also take a ride on the iconic steam train which starts it’s journey to Port Erin from the station near Douglas’s bustling harbour and quayside.
With a wealth of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from Douglas is an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by.

TT Races

The annual TT (Tourist Trophy) Motorbike races start from the famous TT Grandstand which is just two miles away. The two week event attracts visitors from all over the world.
